
ANTIQUE — The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caluya has announced cash incentives for local student-athletes who brought pride and honor to the municipality after winning medals in the 66th Palarong Pambansa held in Agusan del Sur.
The incentives aim to recognize the discipline, dedication, and outstanding achievements of the young athletes who represented Western Visayas Region in the national sporting event.
Under the incentive program, gold medalists will receive P40,000, silver medalists P30,000, and bronze medalists P20,000. Coaches who guided the winning athletes will also receive P10,000 in recognition of their contribution to the athletes’ success.
Among the medalists were Khent Joseph D. Belarmino of Semirara Elementary School, who captured a gold medal in shot put, and Zachary M. Pallares of Tinogboc Elementary School, who also won gold as part of the 4×100-meter relay team.
Meanwhile, Jeza Mae L. Eulogio of Villaresis Elementary School secured a silver medal in the javelin throw event.
The LGU will also recognize Herjie E. Erodias of Semirara Elementary School as the winning coach of the delegation.
Local officials expressed gratitude to the parents, teachers, and school heads for their continued support in nurturing the talents and skills of the youth.
To celebrate the achievements of the athletes, the municipality is currently preparing a grand homecoming celebration for the victorious delegation./PN
