CAPIZ — The province of Capiz is once again filled with pride as Marthonne Andrie Dumolong, a young athlete from Maayon, clinched the gold medal in the highly competitive 200-meter dash for the Elementary Boys category at the ongoing 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur.
The achievement highlighted not only Dumolong’s exceptional athletic ability but also the growing potential of Capisnon youth in national sports competitions.
Dumolong’s victory was the result of years of discipline, determination, and rigorous training. During the race, he displayed remarkable speed and endurance, outpacing his competitors to secure the gold medal.
Representing Western Visayas Region, Dumolong’s triumph became a source of pride not only for his hometown of Maayon but for the entire province of Capiz.
His victory also served as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the province, proving that dedication, perseverance, and proper support can lead to success on the national stage.
The Provincial Government of Capiz, under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, commended Dumolong for bringing honor to the province.

Nagaserbe ini nga maathag nga pamatuod nga ang mga pamatan-on nga Capisnon may ikasarang nga magpangibabaw, mangin inspirasyon, kag handa nga magdala sang kadungganan sa ila pinalangga nga banwa kag iloy nga Capiz,” the Capiz Provincial Government said in a Facebook post.
The entire Capisnon community celebrated Dumolong’s accomplishment, which officials described as another milestone for the province’s youth sports development program.
