ILOILO – Nearly eight in every 10 provincial scholars graduated with Latin honors as the Iloilo Provincial Government’s Iskolars Sang Iloilo Program (ISIP) produced 70 honor graduates among its 89-member Batch 27.
The exceptional batch included one summa cum laude, 44 magna cum laude and 25 cum laude graduates — an academic feat for school year 2025-2026 reflecting both the scholars’ determination and the province’s sustained investment in education.
The graduates were honored during the ISIP Pasidungog 2026, themed “Pagdayaw sa Iskolar Sang Iloilo Program Batch 27,” on July 29 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City.
The recognition ceremony celebrated the hard work, resilience and determination of Ilonggo scholars who pursued their dreams through education despite various challenges.
It also highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to making quality education more accessible to deserving students and developing competent, future-ready Ilonggo professionals.
ISIP alumni who passed their respective licensure examinations were also recognized during the event.
The board passers had availed themselves of the Review Financial Assistance for the Scholars of the Province of Iloilo, established under Provincial Ordinance No. 2024-321.
The assistance demonstrates the provincial government’s continuing support for scholars beyond graduation by helping them prepare for professional licensure examinations.
Third District Board Member Jason Gonzales, chairperson of the Committee on Education of the 15th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, said the ceremony served as a celebration of the scholars’ hard work, resilience and determination.
Gonzales reaffirmed his support for programs that create greater opportunities through education, stressing that every scholar represents hope for a brighter future for their families and communities.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, the ceremony’s guest of honor, congratulated the 89 graduates for their remarkable academic achievements.
Implemented by the Office of the Human Resource Management Officer, ISIP provides educational opportunities to deserving Ilonggo students while promoting academic excellence and professional development.
Through the program, the provincial government seeks to strengthen its investment in human capital and empower future professionals who can contribute to Iloilo’s development and progress./PN
