ROXAS City – Provincial Board member Elueper Martinez accused his colleague, Jonathan Besa, of having extramarital affairs.
Martinez claimed he was gathering receipts that will prove Besa was checking in hotels with women other than his wife.
“I will also file an ethics complaint against Besa once I am done gathering hotel receipts that will show the kind of person he is — having an affair with women other than his wife,” he said in a radio interview.
Besa already filed a complaint against Martinez before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ethics committee for flashing him a “dirty finger” during an executive session on May 17.
He called Martinez’s act “un-parliamentary” and “ungentlemanly.”
“I will not stoop down to the level of Martinez,” Besa said in reaction to his colleague’s claims over Bombo Radyo.
“What will he (Martinez) get out of the receipts he could gather to support his claim that I brought women other than my wife to hotels?” he told this reporter.
“If he cannot substantiate his allegations, I will file a libel suit against him,” Besa added. “I must admit I checked in hotels but — with all honesty — I was always with my wife.”
Ethics committee chairwoman Lilia Demalata will start deliberating on the complaint against Martinez this week.
Martinez is expected to deliver a privilege speech during their regular session on Wednesday regarding his plan to file a complaint against Besa./PN
