CAPIZ — Employees of the Capiz Provincial Capitol received early Christmas cash gifts and food assistance from the provincial government on the morning of December 19, as part of efforts to recognize their service and dedication.
Capitol employees gathered as early as 5 a.m. at the provincial capitol grounds, where they were given 25-kilogram bags of rice, along with spaghetti packs and ham, ahead of the holiday season.
Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, who led the distribution, underscored the importance of acknowledging the contributions of government workers and assured employees of the administration’s continued support.
“This is a clear demonstration that no employee will be forgotten during the holiday season,” Castro said, amid public concerns over the provincial government’s finances.
During the program, officials announced that more than 1,000 permanent and regular employees will receive bonuses exceeding P50,000, while contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers will each receive P12,000 in holiday bonuses.
Provincial officials said the assistance is intended to help employees manage holiday expenses and celebrate Christmas with their families.
The event also featured a Zumba dance session led by Vice Gov. James Magbanua and several department heads, highlighting camaraderie and unity among Capitol employees.
Magbanua said such activities help strengthen teamwork and foster a positive working environment within the provincial government.
Meanwhile, at Roxas City Hall, the release of the P55,000 Christmas bonus for regular city government employees also began on the same day.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas led the distribution ahead of the Christmas break, saying the bonuses recognize the employees’ dedication and sustained performance throughout the year.
“These employees truly deserve this bonus for their hard work. Their commitment to delivering quality public service has been vital to the city’s progress,” Dadivas said.
Earlier, the city government released the first tranche of bonuses for casual, job-order, and contractual employees, marking the start of the holiday bonus distribution.
