Capiz hosts midyear convention of rehab medicine practitioners

CAPIZ – This province is hosting the 27th Midyear Convention of the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM), a distinguished event in the field of healthcare.

The three-day convention from August 7 to 9 brought together the country’s foremost experts, specialists, and practitioners in rehabilitation medicine, as well as community members to discuss essential topics surrounding health and wellness.

Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, during a pre-convention activity on Thursday at the Hall of Governors in the capitol, affirmed the provincial government’s unwavering support for the PARM.

Recognizing their dedication to enhancing healthcare services for those in need, Gov. Castro commended the PARM for its important work, assuring them of the capitol’s continued support for initiatives aimed at improving public health.

The highlight of the day was an informative forum titled “How to Age Gracefully: Revealing the Secrets,” led by Dr. Betty Dy-Mancao.

In her presentation, Dy-Mancao shared valuable strategies for maintaining good health throughout the aging process, emphasizing not only physical well-being but also the importance of mental and emotional health. Her insights were aimed at encouraging individuals to lead fulfilling lives as they age, focusing on practical tips for achieving serenity and longevity.

Furthermore, the event featured a compassionate initiative where several capitol employees were offered free rehabilitation checkups by a team of experienced doctors and rehabilitation specialists.

This service not only aided in identifying potential health concerns but also underscored the provincial government’s commitment to promoting health and wellness within the community.

This convention was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Capiz Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Ramon Alex Nolasco and the PARM. This partnership exemplified a united approach to addressing healthcare needs, reinforcing the province’s commitment to fostering a healthier community./PN
