CAPIZ – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) deployed over 1,000 police personnel in Roxas City and 16 municipalities here to secure the elections and guard all voting centers this coming national and local elections on May 12.
According to Police Colonel Albert Tapulao, director of the CPPO, a total of 1,327 police officers were deployed on May 7, 38 of whom were from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
Tapulao said 71 policemen will help secure 41 voting centers in Roxas City.
In addition, the Philippine Coast Guard deployed 39 personnel for the coastal areas and the Philippine Army sent more than 300 soldiers.
The sendoff ceremony, held at Camp Teodorico C. Apil in Roxas City on Wednesday, marked the official commencement of the law enforcement’s role in ensuring peaceful and orderly voting.
“Our duty is to protect the integrity of the electoral process,” said Tapulao.
He added that they should serve with discipline, neutrality, and a profound sense of duty, emphasizing the immense responsibility entrusted to the officers, urging unwavering commitment to fairness and integrity.
