CAPIZ — The Provincial Government of Capiz will resume its regular five-day workweek beginning May 18, following the issuance of Memorandum Order No. 101, Series of 2026, signed by Gov. Fredenil H. Castro.
Issued on May 14, the memorandum directs all offices under the provincial government to return to the standard Monday-to-Friday schedule in a move aimed at enhancing public service delivery and promoting employee welfare.
Under the order, all employees are required to observe official working hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in accordance with Civil Service Commission guidelines.
Gov. Castro instructed department heads and office chiefs to ensure strict compliance with the directive and to reinforce the importance of maintaining uninterrupted and efficient public service during regular office hours.
The memorandum emphasizes the provincial government’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and ensuring that constituents continue to receive prompt and reliable services.
Any previous policies and practices inconsistent with the new work schedule are deemed repealed or modified accordingly.
The provincial government had adopted a compressed four-day workweek starting March 16, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce energy consumption and improve operational efficiency.
The arrangement was in line with Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President of the Philippines, which encouraged government agencies to implement measures balancing productivity and sustainability.
