ROXAS City – Indigenous people (IP) leaders and persons with disabilities (PWDs) were taken to separate tours around Capiz.
Facilitated by the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), the tours were part of the Provincial Tourism Month celebration.
This year’s celebration has the theme, “Tourism for All: Promoting Universal Accessibility.”
“Nobody is excluded when it comes to tourism,” PTCAO head Alphonsus Tesoro said during the program “Dayon Kamo: A Showcase of Accommodation Establishments and Tour Packages of Capiz.”
IP leaders from the Ati and Panay-Bukidnon tribes in Dumarao, Tapaz and Jamindan towns, and 40 PWDs were treated to the trips.
Among the sites they visited were Capiz Eco Park in Cuartero, Meditation Hills in Sapian, Panay Church, Dumulog fish drying community, provincial capitol, and the Jose Rizal monument here, the provincial information office said.
At least 10 hotels and restaurants hosted them, Tesoro said. (PNA)
