CAPSU stages first technofest

ROXAS City – The Research, Development and Extension (RDE) unit of the Capiz State University (CAPSU) conducted a three-day celebration on its breakthroughs in research and technology here.

CAPSU president Dr. Editha Alfon said the technofest was successful and will be carried out through the RDE unit in the succeeding years. The unit was spearheaded by Dr. Lucy Beluso.

The technofest included an exhibit, showcasing the current innovative knowledge, technology and products developed by the university.

It also aimed at highlighting the developments and achievements of the institution in research, product development and utility model.

The technofest was also a venue for the science community and enthusiasts, particularly the technology developers and investors, including the science and technology service providers and clients, to interact, exchange ideas and pursue potential opportunities in technology commercialization and linkages.

During his speech on the opening day, Rep. Fredenil Castro of the 2nd District of Capiz, commended the school for the initiative and the food-centered researches, challenging the university “to come up with something better, special, more sophisticated, and spectacular.” 

Partner agencies that have funded various research endeavors of the university and faculty researchers who have shown great accomplishments in basic and applied research, technology transfer and promotion were also recognized during the celebration which started on Dec. 9 and ended on Dec. 11.(With a report PIA/PN)
