ROXAS City – At a police checkpoint in Barangay Tanza, Roxas City, suspected marijuana was seized from a 21-year-old man.
French John Vito was a resident of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Panay, Capiz.
He was actually stopped by cops at a checkpoint established for African Swine fever at 11:44 p.m. on Monday, March 27. The discovery was accidental.
One plastic zip lock bag containing around nine grams of suspected marijuana valued at P1,120, a lighter, a rocket pipe glass, and a weighing scale were recovered.
Vito was taken to the Roxas City police station. He will be facing a charge for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With report from Bombo Radyo Roxas)/PN
