ILOILO City – The records of the Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO) were being computerized, according to Francis Cruz, chief of the city government’s Information Technology Services Division.

First to be computerized were the registration records of the trisikads and tricycles taken by the Business Processing and Licensing Office (BPLO).

“Gina-picture-an na sila (drivers) kag gina-print out ang ila identification cards. At the same time ginatipon ta ang ila data sa aton database nga maging basehan later on sang pag-implement naton sang mga ordinansa kag layi related sa traffic,” said Cruz.

Soon a system will be designed to easily check traffic violation records of drivers and vehickes.

“Kon nadakpan ka sang una sa isa ka violation kag madakpan ka liwat, hapos makita ang previous mo nga violations,” said Cruz.

This system will be connected to the City Treasurer’s Office for the easy checking of payments for fines.

“Some drivers whose licenses were confiscated for traffic violations do not anymore pay the corresponding fines to retrieve these from the city government. They simply execute an affidavit of loss so they could apply for a new license,” said Cruz.

With the computerization of data, this modus will be prevented, he stressed.

In the future, Cruz said, this city hall system will be integrated with the Land Transportation Office./PN
