City cops told to give situation report on bars, resto

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) ordered the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and all unit commanders to give situation reports on bars and other establishments offering liquor.

Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, director of PRO-6, said the deployment of more troops will be done if necessary.

Dongbo also directed his men to tighten watch on establisments offering liquor to minors.

Mayor Jerry Treñas recently warned closing a bar located at Smallville Complex for its alleged violation of health protocols designed to curb coronavirus disease 2019’s transmission, such as wearing of facemasks and physical distancing.

Yesterday, a 25-year-old drunk man incurred a head injury after being hit by a bottle in a squabble at Smallville.

However, the victim refused to put the incident on the police record. The groups agreed to settle the misunderstanding.

According to Police Major Kenneth Jay Gratones, chief of the Mandurriao police station, that was the first incident after the lifting of the liquor ban./PN
