City dad against ‘no vaccination, no ride’ policy

BACOLOD  CITY – The “no vaccination, no ride” policy which is currently implemented by the public utility vehicles following an order of the Department of Transportation(DOTr) is discrimination and a violation of the rights of every individual.

This is how Councilor Dindo Ramos, chairperson of the transportation committee described the said policy of the national government.

He explained such policy has added to the burden of the transport sector particularly the drivers, who were affected by the strict implementation due to the coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19) pandemic.

Ramos assured the public that he will never be in favor of or propose any ordinance that will discriminate against unvaccinated individuals against COVID-19.

The DOTr policy is observed in areas placed under Alert Level 3 to stem the surge in new COVID-19 infections.

The whole Negros Island, including this city, is under Alert Level 3 until Jan. 31.

It learned that the Ceres buses of the Vallacar Transit Inc. require all passengers to present COVID-19 vaccination cards before boarding buses./PN
