SANTA Clarita International High School Primes swept its way to the finals of the Panay Sports Association (PSA) Asialink Interschool Basketball League 2017 at the Veterans Gym in Iloilo City.
Led by Ryan Calama-an and Marvin Cuerbo, Primes cruised to an 86-72 victory over Asialink-St. Paul University U-24 team on Wednesday to sweep its three elimination round matches.
Aside from Calama-an and Cuerbo, also contributing on offense in Primes’ wire-to-wire win over St. Paul University are veterans Giann Paul Nahine, Ralph Bajon, Wilmer Dalumpines, and Frank Tono.
“I am glad that my players have executed our game plan well against St. Paul,” said Primes head coach Rodel Camacho. “We will have a few days of break and we will use that time to prepare for our finals foe.”
Iloilo Doctors’ College, meanwhile, gained the other finals seat after finishing the elimination round on second place with 2-1 win-loss record, including a 97-85 win over St. Paul Senior High School.
The championship match between Primes and Iloilo Doctors’ College, as well as the battle-for-third game between St. Paul University and St. Paul Senior High School were moved to Saturday from the original Thursday schedule.
