CLEVELAND Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 146-134, in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) in Cleveland, Ohio.
Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points, including four three-pointers, as he led a balanced Cleveland attack that saw five players score at least 20 points for only the second time in franchise history.
Evan Mobley finished with 24 points, Jaylon Tyson provided 23, Darius Garland added 22, and Sam Merrill chipped in 20 as he set a Cavaliers franchise record by making at least five 3-pointers in four consecutive games.
Minnesota held a 65-63 lead at halftime before Cleveland seized control in the third quarter. The Cavaliers went on a 12-0 run over a 2:18 stretch, highlighted by two 3-pointers from Merrill and consecutive dunks by Mobley.
The game featured 10 lead changes and one tie in the opening quarter before Minnesota surged ahead 47-35. Cleveland closed the gap late in the first half and took charge after halftime to secure the win.
Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid led Minnesota with 25 points each, while Julius Randle added 20, while Jarrett Allen finished with 16 points, marking the 11th time this season that all five Cleveland starters scored in double figures.
Meanwhile, Andrew Nembhard had 29 points and nine assists, Aaron Nesmith added 12 points and nine rebounds before an early exit and Indiana Pacers routed Miami Heat,123-99.
Indiana matched its longest winning streak of the season with a rare second straight victory, this time taking the easy route. The Pacers never trailed and held a double-digit lead for most of the game.
Tyler Herro had 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists on a night Miami shot just 39.1% from the field. Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 16 points, and Bam Adebayo had 13 points and nine rebounds.
