ILOILO City – To make the voter registration process more accessible and comfortable for the public, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in this city is bringing its services to the malls ahead of the December 1, 2025, barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
Comelec-Iloilo City Election Assistant II Jonathan Sayno confirmed that the voter registration will be held exclusively in four malls: Festive Walk Mall, SM City Iloilo, Robinsons Place Iloilo, and Robinsons Jaro.
There will be no registration at the Comelec office during the entire registration period.
The registration will run from July 1 to July 11, 2025, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., as provided under Comelec Resolution No. 11132.
The move to hold registration in malls is part of Comelec’s continuing efforts to modernize and make electoral processes more accessible to the voting public.
Here is the official schedule and venue breakdown:
* July 1–2 – Festive Walk Mall
* July 3–4 – Robinsons Place Jaro
* July 5–6 – SM City Iloilo
* July 7–11 – Robinsons Place Iloilo
Registrants are advised to bring their birth certificates to prove their age eligibility and are urged not to wait until the last day to register.
“We already released the calendar of activities. The earlier you register, the better,” Sayno stressed.
The following transactions will be catered during the registration period:
* First-time voter applications (Barangay/SK)
* Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) membership
* Transfer of registration (within the Philippines)
* Change of name or correction of entries
* Inclusion or reinstatement of records
* Transfer from overseas to local registry
* Updating of records for PWDs, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, and other vulnerable sectors
According to Comelec data, Iloilo City had 330,629 registered voters during the May 12, 2025 midterm elections, with the following breakdown per district:
* City Proper – 45,069
* Arevalo – 35,850
* Jaro – 90,897
* La Paz – 38,251
* Lapuz – 24,401
* Mandurriao – 40,109
* Molo – 56,044
Meanwhile, Comelec also released the key dates for the 2025 Barangay and SK elections:
* October 1–7 – Filing of Certificates of Candidacy (including weekends)
* October 1–November 19 – Premature campaigning prohibited
* October 27–December 31 – Election period; gun ban in effect
* November 20–29 – Official campaign period
* November 30 – Eve of election day; liquor ban; campaigning prohibited
* December 1 – Election day; liquor ban and campaigning prohibited
* December 31 – Last day to file Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE)
