BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental and this capital city will begin implementing the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) on Feb. 23.
Set to be launch on Feb. 12, the RAP would be set up at the third floor of SM City Bacolod.
Voter registration for the 2025 midterm elections will be from Feb. 12 until Sept. 30, 2024. The RAP will be available until Aug. 31.
Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, Comelec-Negros Occidental elections supervisor, said the RAP will be conducted in all capital towns and highly urbanized cities nationwide to make registration, status reactivation, or transfer of registration due to change of address easier for everyone.
The RAP aims to provide convenience to applicants because they can register in Bacolod City even if they live elsewhere, Ananoria added.
Moreover, election officers from each local government unit will be present at the RAP site to easily address inquiries or clarifications from applicants.
Bacolod City Comelec officer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said registration would still continue in Comelec offices while satellite registrations would be conducted in barangays.
Applicants are reminded to bring government-issued identification cards such as the Social Security or Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID, or barangay clearance bearing the registrant’s photo, signature and permanent address.
The Comelec will no longer accept company ID as a valid identification document./PN
