ILOILO City – A construction worker was shot to death yesterday in Barangay Pakiad, Oton, Iloilo.
Thirty-year-old Jhunvert Amit of Barangay San Juan, Molo district died on the spot, police said.
Around 1:20 a.m., two unidentified armed men barged into the makeshift tent where Amit was sleeping and dragged the victim out, according to his companion Antonio Montalbo, 50.
Montalbo told police investigators he heard five successive bursts of gunfire. He then found Amit dead under a bamboo bench.
