Construction worker ‘stabs foreman to death’

ILOILO City – Police were hunting a construction worker accused of stabbing his foreman to death in Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo.

The suspect, Noel Pajarillo of Santa Barbara town, remained at large as of this writing, police said.

The victim – 41-year-old Robert Velasco of Murcia, Negros Occidental – sustained 18 stab wounds on the body.

Velasco was taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district where he expired.

Velasco and Pajarillo were working on a subdivision in Santa Barbara, police said.

Days prior to the incident on Saturday Velasco reported to their employer that Pajarillo was being lazy at work, the Pavia police head Chief Inspector Fernand Limbungan said, citing initial investigation.

At around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday while Velasco was preparing dinner at their quarters in Balabag, Pavia, Pajarillo showed up and repeatedly stabbed the former, said the police.

A 15-inch long kitchen knife believed to have been used by the suspect was recovered from the crime scene./PN
