Cop who ‘stole’ motorcycle faces admin rap

ILOILO City – A police officer who stole a parked motorcycle in Barangay San Jose Ward, Pototan, Iloilo might be dismissed from the service.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, directed the local police to slap Police Corporal Darrel Dumaraog with an administrative case.

Francisco also directed to disarm and place Dumaraog under restriction.

May order na po tayo to disarm and restrict him. Automatically he will be charged for administrative case kasi hindi maganda ang ginawa nya,” he said.

The suspect remains detained at the Pototan police station after he was charged for motornapping, according to Pototan police chief Major Roy Tayona.

Dumaraog, 34, a resident of Bago City, Negros Occidental and assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Iloilo province, was arrested by his colleagues in his office in Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay, Iloilo on Sept. 8.

He was tagged as the one who stole the motorcycle of village chief Nicky Pescuela, 39, of Barangay Lopez Jaena Ward, Pototan.

The suspect was identified through the security camera in a nearby establishment wherein he drove the motorcycle which was parked along the road, police added./PN
