ILOILO City – Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the fatal stabbing and hacking of a Dao, Capiz resident.
The 28-year-old Andrew Delos Santos was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Dao District Hospital, a police report showed.
Police identified his suspected attacker as Regan Abayon, his 27-year-old neighbor in Barangay Balucuan, Dao.
Both were binge drinking in the village at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
Abayon suddenly grabbed a bolo and stabbed Delos Santos on the back, police said, citing investigation.
Delos Santos tried to escape but Abayon ran after him, hacking him on the back of the head and body, the police report stated.
Abayon fled after the incident, police said.
