BACOLOD City – Colonel Joeresty Coronica, the new director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), formally assumed office yesterday.
Coronica replaced Colonel Noel Aliño who was relieved from the post effective July 19 and was given the new assignment as the regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in National Capital Region.
A native of Barangay Mansilingan in this city, Coronica was the former director of the Iloilo City Police Office.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), said he directed Coronica to increase police visibility and intensify intelligence monitoring to thwart plans of criminals in Bacolod.
In an interview with RMN DYHB Bacolod yesterday, Coronica thanked Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for the trust.
He added that he was elated to serve the city anew after 17 years.
Coronica earned numerous accolades from the Philippine National Police (PNP) throughout his career, including Medalya ng Kadakilaan, Medalya ng Kagalingan, and Medalya ng Kasanayan among others.
Colonel Kim Legada, meanwhile, assumed post as the new ICPO director during the turnover of command ceremony at the PRO-6 headquarters in Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City yesterday./PN
