ILOILO – A couple allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, Iloilo, on Wednesday morning, March 12.
Police said the suspects identified as aliases “Mary Joy”, 54, and “Cyril”, 53, both residents of the said barangay, were caught with approximately 400 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.7 million.
Joint operatives of the Pavia Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) led by Lieutenant Brett G. Balopiños, Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Iloilo Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA) also recovered P15,000 in buy-bust money.
The suspects were detained at the Pavia Municipal Police Station, facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
