Cousins arrested over fiesta stabbing incident

BACOLOD City – Two men were nabbed after they stabbed a farmer in Sitio Gui-on, Barangay Quezon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

Cousins Claudio Jarabe Villadar, 41, and Reymar Villadar Baguio, 23, were detained in the lockup facility of the San Carlos City police station. Both of them are residents of Quezon.

They were tagged in stabbing the 21-year-old Junmark Tapinit, also a resident of the village.

Police investigation showed that Villadar and Baguio – who were allegedly drunk – stabbed Tanipit on the chest without provocation using a 10-inch knife around 1 a.m. on Monday.

The village was celebrating its annual fiesta at the time.

Tanipit was rushed to the San Carlos City Hospital, about 40 kilometers from the scene of the crime. He was currently recuperating.

Villadar and Baguio, on the other hand, were arrested by village watchmen who later turned them over to the police.
