Cousins shot dead

ILOILO – Land dispute may have been the motive in the killing of two cousins in Barangay Madarag, San Enrique town.

Ruben Campos, 30, and Limuel Badiaanon, 36, were both residents of Barangay Jaguimitan, Passi City. They were shot around 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 11.

According to Police Major Gilbert Baldevarona, San Enrique police chief, the victims were homebound when an armed man blocked their way.

A heated argument ensued, followed by bursts of gun fire.

Baldevarona said three empty shells of a .9mm pistol were recovered from the crime scene.

Before Badiaanon died, he told his family who attacked them.

“We have the name. We are now conducting a hot pursuit operation,” Baldevarona said.

According to the victims’ family, land dispute likely sparked the shooting.

A double murder case would be filed against the suspect./PN
