BACOLOD City – Some offices in the Negros Occidental provincial capitol were locked down. The head of the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) and three other employees tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Zeaphard Caelian, head of the PIMT, said they were all asymptomatic and currently being isolated at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia town.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz and their respective staff, on the other hand, began home quarantining yesterday. They were exposed to Caelian during a meeting earlier this week. They will be subject to swab testing later.
The Office of the Governor, Office of the Provincial Administrator and the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division office will be on lockdown until March 29 for decontamination.
Lacson urged other officials and individuals who were exposed to him during his official functions in Bacolod City, Sipalay City and the town of Cauayan to likewise go on quarantine.
He apologized for the anxiety he may have caused those who were with him during his official functions this week./PN
