CENTRAL Philippine University captured three titles at the close of the Iloilo City Developmental Volleyball League (ICDVL) Season 3 on Saturday.

CPU defeated Dumangas 25-18, 25-8, 25-14 in secondary girls and Superfly 25-17, 25-15, 25-23 in the open women’s category in matches at the Ateneo de Iloilo gym.

Its third title came after the squad triumphed over Iloilo Science and Technology University 25-20, 25-15, 25-22 in the open men’s finals at the CPU gym.

In elementary girls, Santo Niño Sur Elementary School bagged the title after sweeping La Paz Elementary School 25-16, 25-20. University of San Agustin took the bronze following a 25-16, 25-17 victory over Hua Siong.

  1. Arroyo Elementary School ruled elementary boys by defeating San Agustin 23-25, 25-17, 25-19 while Dumangas brought home the secondary boys crown after dominating over Concepcion 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Pavia captured the secondary boys bronze with a 27-25, 27-29, 25-15 win over Lambunao. Western Institute of Technology finished third in the open men’s after a 20-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19 rout of San Agustin.

Around 70 teams across Western Visayas participated in the month-long ICDVL, which was initiated by the Iloilo City government’s Sports Development Division under Rommel Castro and tournament director Moises Salomon./PN
