MANILA — Creamline Cool Smashers flaunted their formidable depth and bench strength as they demolished the winless Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-9, 25-11, 25-15, in a one-sided 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference match over the weekend at the Capital Arena in Ilagan, Isabela.
Coming off a grueling five-setter the previous week, the defending champions showed no signs of fatigue, turning the lopsided contest into a statement of dominance and roster depth.
Creamline needed only 68 minutes to notch their second victory in Pool B and bounce back in emphatic fashion.
“Everyone came to play, everybody got a little bit of playing time and everybody did a great job,” said Creamline import Courtney Schwan, who spearheaded the attack with 14 points.
Team captain Alyssa Valdez added 10 markers, including two aces, while Rose Vargas contributed eight.
Tots Carlos and Pangs Panaga chipped in five apiece in limited court time, with Michele Gumabao, Sheena Toring, and Michele Gamit adding four each.
The Cool Smashers dominated in all scoring categories — attacks (42-17), blocks (9-4), and service aces (6-5) — while minimizing errors to just nine compared to Galeries’ 18.
After briefly allowing a 6-all deadlock in the second set, Creamline went on a decisive run that shattered the Highrisers’ rhythm. Even with their reserves in, the Cool Smashers kept their foot on the gas, as Vargas, Lorie Bernardo, and Mafe Galanza anchored the closing stretch, sealing the win with Toring’s quick attack.
The sweep underscored Creamline’s balance and versatility, giving head coach Sherwin Meneses the luxury of spreading minutes without compromising control.
For Galeries, Jean Asis finished with seven points, while import Jelena Cvijovic managed only six. France Ronquillo and Dim Pacres added five and four, respectively, as the Highrisers slid to 0-3 in the standings.
Meanwhile, the Petro Gazz Angels rediscovered their winning rhythm after subduing the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, behind Brooke Van Sickle’s 25-point explosion laced with 20 digs and 15 receptions./PN
