MANILA – Creamline Cool Smashers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans were the only teams that stay unbeaten in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference held at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
Creamline recorded its fourth straight win on Sunday after dominating the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters, 25-16, 25-12, 25-13.
Alyssa Valdez unloaded 16 points, all on attacks, while Michelle Gumabao got nine points, and Jessica Galanza added 13 excellent digs, nine receptions, and eight markers.
From a tight battle in the second technical timeout of the first set, the Cool Smashers tallied 21-14 behind Celine Domingo. Valdez ended the set in favor of Creamline.
The Cool Smashers kicked off the second round with a 15-5 advantage, which ballooned to 14 points with Gumabao and Valdez anchoring the offense. The assault continued in the third set as Creamline scored 16-8 before it stretched to 21-11 on conversions by Diana Carlos.
Pau Soriano and Rizza Mandapat put on the finishing touches for the Cool Smashers with their back-to-back hits.
Maria Lina Molde posted seven points, while Maria Shola Alvarez carved out five markers as the Power Hitters still has yet to enter the PVL win column after four matches.
On the other hand, Choco Mucho Flying Titans asserted mastery over Perlas Spikers, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20, to snatch their third win.
Pauline Gaston and Kat Tolentino bannered the Flying Titans with nine points each, while Madeleine Madayag contributed eight markers./PN
