ILOILO City – Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Titans and Enderun College Titans reached the championship match of the 24th University Games men’s basketball after beating their semifinals foes at the USA Sambag Gym here.
Behind the impressive showing of graduating guard Jeffrey Manday on Friday, the Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias made a short work of the Asian College Dumaguete, 95–68, in the semifinals.
Enderun, for its part, used its towering frontline to its advantage. His team easily defeated the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta-Binan, 70-36, in the other Final Four match.
In women’s basketball, College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers entered the gold medal match via a 63-43 win over De La Salle University Lady Archers in the semifinals.
They will face Enderun College in the finals.
In men’s football over at the Iloilo Sports Complex, University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons and National University Bulldogs bested their semifinals foes to reach the gold medal match.
The Fighting Maroons disposed University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in the semifinals, 2-1, behind conversions from Kintaro Miyagi and Jayvan Muros Calayag, while the Bulldogs ousted the University of Santo Tomas, 2-0./PbN
