BACOLOD City — CSAV–Titans captured the Central Negros Cluster championship after defeating Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts, 62–57, in the finals of the NBTC Negros Island Local Qualifying Tournament here.
It was a tightly-contested championship game between the Titans and the Thunderbolts, but it was the former who came up with decisive shots in the endgame to secure the win.
CSAV advanced to the title game after a dominant 95–33 semifinal victory over Shockwave Basketball, while Bacolod Tay Tung High School reached the final as the top seed following an 85–61 win over La Salle–Bacolod.
LCC–B Davies El Tzino, on the other hand, finished third in Central Negros after routing RGG Farm, 86–54, in the bronze medal match.
In North Negros, several close games highlighted the elimination round as Team Calatrava Basketball edged Cadiz City Dukes, 66–65, E.B.M. Tumandok defeated Victorias City, 78–68, and Talisay Notre Dame outlasted One Silay, 88–86. The North Negros semifinals are scheduled on January 31.
South Negros also saw continued action with Team Mylan beating Sparta Hinigaran, 72–68, Sipalay City surviving Equiper Scorpions, 93–88, and MMBC edging Bago NBTC, 73–70. Pintok Tigers–Binalbagan defeated Hiliusa Pontevedra, 73–70, before advancing with a 72–68 win over MMBC.
Bleacher Sports Bar Team A routed Sipalay City, 97–71, while Equiper Scorpions rebounded with an 86–52 win over Sparta Hinigaran.
With Central Negros already decided, North and South Negros will determine their respective champions ahead of the NBTC Visayas Regional Championships in Dumaguete City from February 10 to 14, 2026./PN
