CSB mauls AMA in PBA D-League

MANILA – Go for Gold-CSB Scratchers continued its winning run in the 2019 PBA D-League as it clobbered AMA Online Education, 109-91, at JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

Roosevelt Adams led the way with 21 points, 17 rebounds, and five assists for the Scratchers, which tallied its fourth consecutive victory to move up to fourth place in the Aspirants Group at 5-3.

Robi Nayve added 19 points and five rebounds, while Carlo Young and Jimboy Pasturan contributed 13 and 12 markers, respectively, and Ilonggo Edward Dixon had 11 markers for the Scratchers.

From a tightly contested opening half, the Scratchers got separation from the Titans on a 7-0 run at the final minute of the third quarter to seize a 77-68 lead before breaking away with a 32-point fourth quarter finishing kick.

“I think we just got off to a bad start. Medyo slow start kami, but we picked it up and we’re playing much better,” said Scratchers head coach Charles Tiu.

Joshua Munzon finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Franky Johnson had 26 points, six steals, and four assists for the Titans, which dropped to 2-4 card.

Meanwhile, Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR Golden Harvest crawled its way back from a 20-point deficit to score a thrilling 96-92 double-overtime win over Metropac-San Beda University Movers.

JM Calma scored the game-icing lay-up with 14.5 seconds to spare, catching a pass from Ken Villapando to give the Golden Harvest the four-point cushion they needed to escape with the tough victory to improve to 6-1 card. The Movers dropped to 6-2./PN
