PATNONGON, Antique – The Department of Agriculture (DA) has allocated P17,040,000.00 financial assistance for 3,408 farmers in Patnongon, Antique.
Mayor Evohn Nee Baldestamon himself announced that 3,408 farmers of Patnongon under the DA’s Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) II will receive P5,000 financial assistance on March 21-22, 2022.
“It is with great joy that the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance amounting of P5,000.00 each will be given to our dedicated and hardworking Patnonganon Farmers. The Department of Agriculture declared 3,408 qualified beneficiaries which is second to the highest number of recipients in the whole province of Antique,” part of Baldestamon’s statement.
The RFFA is an unconditional cash transfer program which aims to provide PHP5,000 financial assistance each to rice farmers tilling 0.5 to two hectares of land in 33 provinces nationwide.
For this, Baldestamon thanked DA Secretary William Dar and DA-6 executive regional director Remelyn R. Recoter because the assistance was a great help to farmers.
According to Baldestamon, farmers will use the financial assistance to purchase materials for farming.
“Our beloved Mayor Baldestamon and Vice Mayor Bacongallo are also extending their high salute to our Patnonganon Farmers as they continue to help and elevate the Agricultural Sector of our municipality.
