CAPIZ – Dao’s Councilor Edwin Andrada was elected as the new president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) – Capiz Chapter.
The elections were held on July 30 at Kapis Mansyon in Barangay Banica, Roxas City, where Andrada and the rest of the candidates ran unopposed.
Organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Capiz in partnership with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the electoral process covered the new PCL Capiz Chapter officers’ term from 2025 to 2028.
As the newly elected president, Andrada will serve as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, replacing Atty. Paul Ivan Baticados, former PCL president and member of the Roxas City Council.
“Kon trabaho, masarangan. Napangabay ko man ang kooperasyon sang opisyales kag officers. Happy ako kay wala ako kontra. Buot silingon, may trust sila sa akon,” said Andrada. “As PCL president, I want to unite all councilors. For municipalities without officers, I hope we can assign representatives.”
“Bisan indi officer, ara sila para ang communication madali kag madasig, para ang concern ka isa kag isa mapaabot sa PCL,” he added.
Dumalag’s Mayor Maria Concepcion “Khukhu” Castro administered the oath of office to Andrada and the newly elected officers, formalizing their commitment to serve their fellow public officials and constituents.
The newly elected officers of the PCL Capiz Chapter for the 2025–2028 term include Paolo Besa of Panay as vice president, Joan Adonay of Dao as secretary General, Zoe Maria Felipe Herrera of Sapian as treasurer, Motre Bellosillo of Dumalag as auditor, Junnel Beltran of President Roxas as public relations officer, and Catherine San Antonio of Ivisan as business manager.
Serving as Board of Directors are Ian Perez of Pilar, Vincent Bolina of Pontevedra, Remelo Valenzuela of Dumarao, Mark Calinao of Panitan, Steve Hijosa of Cuartero, Wildie Durunio of Maayon, and Liezel Aldea of Tapaz./PN
