DAR Employees Association bloodletting campaign

THE Department of Agrarian Reform Employees Association (DAREA) has recently conducted a bloodletting activity jointly initiated by the DAREA Iloilo-Regional-Guimaras chapters in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for Western Visayas Regional Blood Center on July 22, 2019 at Novena Golden Jubilee Hall, St. Clement’s Compound, Luna St., Lapaz, Iloilo City.

This activity was spearheaded by the three DAREA chapter presidents, namely: Mr. Roel F. Flamiano (DARPO Iloilo), Ms. Annabel Gamosa (DARRO 6) and Mr. Abner Masiado (DARPO Guimaras).

Dr. Dennise Roy Pasadilla, Blood Center Manager of the PRC and his team anchored the bloodletting activity. To be qualified, the donors must pass the physical and history screening and must meet the following qualifications: they must be in good health; ages 16-65 years old (donors 16-17 years old must have parental consent); and weigh at least 110 pounds.

There were 17 successful blood donors out of 30 who participated in the bloodletting event.

Blood donation is a noble and heroic act of saving the donee’s life. On the part of the donors, it has its own benefits, too, after being examined by doctors. They get to know their blood type and their physical condition, among others.

There were 17 successful blood donors out of 30 who participated in the said event.  The blood supply that was gathered is stored by PRC for the use of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) employees and their direct family members in times of need and in emergency cases.

DAREA is organized towards the achievement and total development of the DAR employees nationwide to enhance the quality of public service through the implementation of the agrarian reform program.

The DAREA appreciated the full support extended by the DAR Top Management headed by Regional Director Stephen M. Leonidas, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II  Lucrecia S. Taberna, of DARPO-Iloilo and Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Manuel Velasco that led to the success of the bloodletting activity./PN
