Dead man washed ashore a fisherman

ROXAS City – The dead man washed ashore in Barangay Dumulog here recently was a fisherman from Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

The 55-year-old Noe Patalagsa was identified by a fellow fisherman, boat captain Buenvenido Cos of John Paul Fishing Boat.

According to Cos, seven of them went out fishing but due to strong waves, they temporarily took shelter at Olotayan Island. It was there where Patalagsa disappeared, he added.

They looked for him but failed to find him, said Cos.

Before Patalagsa went missing, the boat captain said they noticed something strange – Patalagsa changed his shirt several times.

They believed Patalagsa jumped off their boat while the rest of the boat’s crew were sleeping.

Cos said Patalagsa also previously jumped off their boat in the waters of Estancia, Iloilo but survived and was found in a barangay in Masbate./PN
