ILOILO – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through its Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) program, will fund some P413.9 million worth of projects in this province this year.

The CMGP was formerly the Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan at Daan Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran, or Kalsada, program.

Four priority road projects will be implemented under the program:

* 12.4-kilometer Cabugao-Banban-Toyungan road in Calinog (P167.6 million)

* 8.4-kilometer Mina-Talbong-Yugot-Nabitasan Naslo road, Mina and Pototan (P121.8 million)

* 5.9-kilometer Poblacion-Bancal-Abong-Tarong road in Carles (P81 million)

* 2.5-kilometer Batad-Embarkadero road in Batad (P43.5 million)

Implementation may start in the second quarter.

Last year the DILG, under the Kalsada program, funded the P166-million 15-kilometer Badiang-Camiros-Ilajas-Moroboro-Lincud-Rumagayray-San-Enrique road, which covered Anilao, Dingle and San Enrique. It was expected to be completed December this year.

Aside from the DILG-funded road projects, a bulk of the P3.1-billion 2017 provincial government budget went to the Provincial Engineer’s Office, mainly for the rehabilitation and construction of provincial roads. (PNA)
