BACOLOD City – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded newly elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials of their role in bringing “further development to the city.”
“Let’s propel our city to further development and let the next generation reap the fruits of our efforts,” said DILG city director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag during the mass oath-taking ceremony of the new officials on June 16 at the SMX Convention Center.
She told the officials that the DILG “will continue to see to it that you perform your duties, powers and functions within the bounds of law.”
“As your partner we will continue to guide and engage you in the major programs of the national government in its fight against criminality, illegal drugs and corruption,” Madayag added.
The newly elected officials will assume office on June 30./PN
