ILOILO – The municipalities of Dingle and Bingawan here are set to be declared free from illegal drugs, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Western Visayas (PDEA-6).
Dingle town, which has 33 barangays, will be declared “drug-free” on Dec. 16, the PDEA-6 said.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Bingawan, which has 14 villages, will be declared free from illegal drugs on Dec. 20, it added.
According to the agency, the declarations will be preceded by the launching of the Balay Silangan facilities of the two municipalities.
The simultaneous launching of the Balay Silangan and the declaration of the drug-cleared municipality will be attended by the members of the Regional Oversight Committee headed by the PDEA-6 with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police and the Department of Health.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. of Iloilo province, is expected to join the program.(With a report from PDEA-6/PN)
