DOLLY de Leon is filled with excitement as she shares the stage with Lea Salonga in the upcoming play “Request sa Radyo.”
The two multi-awarded stars will alternately play the lead role of the Filipino adaptation of Franz Xaver Kroetz’s piece “Wunschkonzert” or “Request Program.”
On Instagram, De Leon recalled the first time she met Salonga as she looks forward to working with the Tony Award winner.
“First met this powerhouse of a talent in our teens when we were taking jazz classes with the fabulous Aldeguer sisters, Lally and Terry,” she said. “Decades later we get to collaborate as alternates in a play that means so much to us both, with a theme that has always been anathema to me – loneliness.”
“We’re both hoping this partnership sheds light on what it’s like to be away from home and our loved ones – a phenomenon we’re both very familiar with,” she added.
“Request sa Radyo” will run from October 10 to 20 at the Samsung Performance Arts Theater in Circuit Makati. (ABS-CBN News)
