Don Bosco claims U13 title in DFL

BACOLOD City — Don Bosco Technical Institute of Victorias City defeated Trinity Christian School, 3-2, in the championship to claim the Under-13 title in the Dynamic Football League (DFL) 2nd Conference at the Panaad Park and Stadium yesterday.

Both teams also tangled in the Under-11 championship Saturday last week with Trinity Christian School winning the title, 4-2.

John Lloyd Bentic starred for the Bosconians, making all the scores in the 50th, 57th and 59th minutes, while Robert Isaiah Indiape scored for Trinity in the 18th minute, when Bentic made successive goals, and Indiape’s teammate Audrey Mapa scored in the 60th minute.

University of St. La Salle-Integrated School (USLS-IS) defeated Bago City Elementary School for third place after a shootout, 6-5. Both ended in regulation at 3-all.

Bago scorers in regulation were Jan Fred Cruz in the 11th minute, and Bryan Siconiegue in the 5th and 30th minute.

USLS-IS scorers were Jan Ryan Locsin in the 36th minute, and Chyle Miraflorez in the 37th and 47th minutes.

USLS-IS also salvaged third place in the Under-11 division by beating St. John’s Institute, 3-2.

Individual awardees in Under-11 were USLS-IS’ Robbie Tolosa (Best Striker), Trinity’s Celis Dave (Best Defender), Don Bosco’s Paul Justin Juen (Best Midfielder), Trinity’s Justin Karl Serna (Best Goalkeeper), and Trinity’s Syreal Xander Magbanua (Most Valuable Player).
