ILOILO City – Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 will temporarily hold office at Casa Real, the old Iloilo provincial capitol on Bonifacio Drive.

DOT-6’s current building occupying the provincial government lot next to Museo Iloilo would be demolished to give way to the P400-million Iloilo capitol complex redevelopment.

The regional tourism office may transfer to Casa Real before this month is over, according to Provincial Administrator Raul Banias.

DOT-6 would be occupying the first floor of Casa Real. Banias said the area already has the needed office facilities such as tables, chairs and air-conditioning units.

“Buligan sila namon sila sa ila transfer plan, including sang mga tawo, salakyan nga kinahanglan nila,” said Banias.

After its temporary stay at Casa Real, DOT-6 would be moving to its permanent home – a building currently being occupied by the Philippine Red Cross on a lot owned by the provincial government adjacent to the Western Visayas Regional Museum.

The Philippine Red Cross would soon be moving out of the building and transfer to another provincial government-owned property near the Iloilo National High School in La Paz district, said Banias./PN
