ILOILO City — A drinking session ended in tragedy after a man allegedly shot his drinking partner dead in Barangay Tastasan, Buenavista, Guimaras.
The victim, Rey Montaño, was fatally wounded in an altercation with Teddy Paul Gallo, who allegedly fired twice.
According to Colonel Rhea Santos, director of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO), the incident occurred around 8:5 a.m. yesterday at the residence of Rosal Mae Marquez, where the two men were drinking.
Tensions reportedly escalated when Montaño confronted Gallo, questioning why he did not contribute to their drinks.
Santos said the argument stemmed from a drinking session the night before. Gallo had given Montaño money to buy additional liquor, but Montaño allegedly failed to purchase it.
Gallo later surrendered to the authorities and is currently held at the Buenavista police station, where he faces charges of murder./PN
