ROXAS City – A married tricycle driver and a woman not his wife were caught having sex in a vacant lot in Sitio Lawis, Barangay Baybay.
Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team personnel led by Barangay Chairman Reynaldo Magallanes found the two after getting suspicious when they saw a tricycle (plate number 3136) with a missing passenger seat nearby.
Using a flashlight, they walked through the dimly lit area and were shocked to find the two in a compromising position early morning on May 12.
“The man ran away and hid in a dark area, leaving his partner behind,” Magallanes told this reporter. “The woman was trembling and felt embarrassed. We clothed her and called on his partner to come out. They were in their mid-30s.”
Magallanes said the two were taken to the barangay hall for recording purposes.
“The man was repeatedly pleading that they be released. He admitted that he was married and asked us to withhold his name and that of the woman,” the barangay captain said. “We eventually released them.”
Barangay officials were patrolling at night as part of enforcing City Ordinance No. 25 series of 2005, which requires the logging of tricycles going in and out of Roxas.
It was learned that the man’s tricycle was a colorum (without franchise).
According to Magallanes, the vacant lot was frequented by lovers who cannot afford to get a room.
“We asked the owner of the vacant lot to fence off the area,” he said. “Barangay Baybay is a tourist destination. Such incidents are giving a negative impression.”/PN
