ILOILO City – Three personnel of a driving school in Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district were arrested in an entrapment for the alleged fixing of a theoretical driving certificate (TDC) on Dec. 14.

According to Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, assistant regional director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6, the suspects were an instructor, an administrative officer and another employee of Triple M Driving School.

Their modus is to wait in front of the regional office of LTO-6 and encourage people to transact with them without the need to actually attend the 15-hour theoretical driving course required for the issuance of a driver’s license, said Geduspan.

The LTO-6 official said there have been reports but one complainant directly identified the suspects.

The Anti-Fixers Team of LTO-6, led by Geduspan, and the operatives of Jaro Police Station mobilized through a poseur client with P2,000 in marked money and a TDC Certificate.

The suspects were detained at the Jaro Police Station. They will face charges for violation of Article 172 or Falsification by private individuals and use of falsified documents and Republic Act 9485 or Anti-Red Tape Law.

Operations of the said driving school are also suspended for 60 days while an investigation is ongoing./PN
