BACOLOD City – A string of drug-related charges has been filed against a village councilman (kagawad) of Barangay Cabug.
The 31-year-old Von Carlo Guimbal was one of the seven caught having a “pot session” in Victorina Subdivision in Barangay Mansilingan on April 22.
Charges for violation of sections 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and 15 (use of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 were lodged against him at the City Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.
Slapped with similar charges were Renato Nicor Sr., 53; Joery Casiano, 40; Dindo Crispe, 27; John Mark Amodia, 25; and Robert Azero, 26.
Police caught them inside a motorcycle shop.
Another suspect, the 40-year-old operation target Josan Cawacas, was charged with violation of sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), 11 and 12.
Cawacas’ brother owns the motorcycle shop where the operation was staged.
Police Station 7 operatives seized P10,000 worth of shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride.
The suspects were detained in the Police Station 7 lockup cell. (PNA)
