Drug suspect killed; P2-M ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – A “high-value” drug target was killed in a buy-bust operation at Estrella Subdivision in Barangay 6, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

The 44-year-old Leoner Jalandoon of Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago allegedly tried to evade arrest by fighting police officers.

His 18-year-old live-in partner Janine Cruz, on the other hand, was arrested and detained in the lockup cell of the Victorias City police station.

She was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Suspected shabu value at around P2,727,000 contained in 102 sachets was seized from the suspects, police said.

Personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office’s City Intelligence Unit, Victorias City police station, and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit staged the sting operation around 8:10 a.m. on Sunday.

Jalandoon was alleged to be a supplier of drugs in Panay and Negros islands./PN
