‘Drunk’ drowns in DSB

BACOLOD City – The body of a 50-year old man was found 6:30 a.m. on Saturday at a resort in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Ponsito Trasmonte Loberos, resident of Barangay Igmayaan in the town, died of apparent drowning.

An investigation revealed that Loberos was on a drinking binge with a certain “Dapo” the previous night. The victim allegedly stood up to pee near the resort’s irrigation canal but lost his balance and bumped his head on a concrete portion of the duct before falling into the canal. Police believe Loberos then lost consciousness and eventually drowned.
