ILOILO City – In Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Sara, Iloilo a drunken man with a gun was arrested and detained at the municipal police station.
Luisito Celis, 39, was a resident of Barangay Salcedo, Sara. He yielded a .45 pistol.
Cops arrested Celis around 10:29 p.m. on Sunday after Celerio Tady sought their help.
According to Celerio, Celis threatened to shoot him.
Celis faces a charge for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. His gun had no license. The law regulates the ownership, possession, carrying, manufacture, dealing in and importation of firearms, ammunition, or their parts.
To own and possess firearms and ammunitions, the applicant must be a Filipino citizen, at least 21 years old and has gainful work, or has filed an Income Tax Return for the preceding year as proof of income, profession, business or occupation./PN
